I don't see what the problem is, he could use the TARDIS to go back in time, plant seeds, come back and collect his ready-made shrubbery within the space of half an hour.

Yay police call boxes! Unbeknownst to Dan and Daffyd, this isn't actually the Tardis. It's just an antique police call box from Old Blighty. I switched them. :D

I'm the opposite. I can't draw organics to save my life, but drawing blocky things is a cinch. It comes from my childhood love of drawing network diagrams without stencils.
